Maanaveeyam — 'Humanness' — was first published in June 1971 by Rasadhuni Sahithi Parishat, dedicated to the poet's father Sri Madiraju Narayana Rao. Reprinted in January 2026 by Anupama Printers. The collection is structured in two movements: Part One opens with 'Udayam' — the rising sun as metaphor for awakening — and moves through the beginning of life and its struggles. Part Two turns inward with 'Ashanti' (Restlessness) before ascending to 'Yugadarshanam' (Vision of the Age) in two culminating sections. Contemporary reviewers called it the first Telugu social epic in free verse — a portrait of human progress across generations. The foundational work of Swecchaa Kavithvam.
